First of all, you are incorrect because OA is not D

Secondly, if IN YOUR OPINION it is D, we would like to hear how you come up with that. Do not waste people time in Math discussion with IMOs.

I have actually seem this trend before (from MGMAT question). Statement 2 gives me a clue about what statement 1 could be.

statement 1:

15x+29x=44x

440/44=10.

ERIC - SMART SMART SMART!!

Two statement never lie to each other! VERY GOOD CATCH...I did not see it.

By the way you missed the zero at the end of 44

15x+29x=440x

Oh no, I just do the problem in 2 steps.

step 1: figure out total is 44x
step 2: 44x=440
x=10

Sorry for being vague.

Eric,
The only thing I would disagree is using what given in Stmt II in evaluating Stmt I.

When we evaluate Stmt I Stmt II does not exist.

In your case if u were to consider stmt II hinting something when evaluating stmt I (not sure if it can be done) but then it shoukd lead to C) and not A)

Logitech,
I know u published the OA but can u please double check. I could have been wrong with the 7 number.

Please CHECK the OA again just for it is worth. I must be missing something here and may be we need the experts to jump in and provide their thoughts.

Regards,
Cramya
