GMAT Prep 2 Geometry Problem

What is the easiest approach to solving this problem?

i just got this formula from this forum:
Area of an equilateral triangle = sqrt3*(Tri Side^2)/4
so
sqrt3*(t^2)/4 = s^2
solve the rest u will get the ans

thank you for this formula! is there an easier way to approach this problem though? I don't feel like we are expected to know that formula in order to solve the problem. especially since it's only problem number 12 of the exam? I just want to make sure I have all my bases covered!
