The double set matrix approach that is being used by MGMAT is the best suited for set problems...

Here goes my explanation

Let the no of students be x
It is given that 2x/3 students dislike lima beans and of those who dislike lima beans 3/5 dislike brussel sprouts which is given by 3/5(2x/3)=2x...

Now the students who like brussel sprouts & dislike lima beans is given by (2x/3-2x/5)=4x/15

statement 1:

x=120
4x/15=32

sufficient

statement 2:

it is given in the question that 2x/3 dislike lima beans.so thos who like lima beans can be given by x/3
x/3=40
x=120
4x/15=32

sufficient

Hence the ans is D...Let me know if you have any doubts
