Ok here is the question:
Forced to cut back their stock, automobile dealers in the area have cut prices; their pick-up trucks have been priced to sell, and they are.
A)
B) are priced to sell, and they have
C) are priced to sell, and they do
D) are being priced to sell, and have
E) had been priced to sell, and they have
I have the answer key but the explanation given in the book is too short, and I am unable to understand anything from it. So please try to elaborate your reasoning.

the question has an eclipsed verb.... now think
are priced to sell, they do ........ ( sell)
are priced to sell, they have ....sell ..makes no sense
same for rest options!!

Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divine within.

Past perfect "had been" and Present perfect "Have (sell)" can never co-exist
Both have different meaning
past perfect- Action is past of the past
Present perfect-may have started in the past but continues to the present
Past perfect and simple past do co-exist and live in harmony
Sounds like a good explanation! Thank you!iamcste wrote:gmatman1 wrote:Why would (E) be incorrect? (E) may sound weird, but I would still like to have a good explanation.
