The bank has offered so many convenient services, such as checking by phone and online banking, that many of their customers no longer visit the bank itself.

A) that many of their customers no longer visit the bank itself.
B) that each of its customers no longer visit the bank itself.
C) that many of their customers no longer visit the bank themselves.
D) that many of its customers no longer visit the bank itself.
E) that many of its customers no longer visit the bank him or herself.

(D)

Bank is singular so "its customers" is required and "bank itself" is required as the sentence try to convey that customers do not go to "brick and mortar" branch anymore.

Your point
itself/ him or herself

"him or herself" is incorrect
him/her or herself/himself is ok

we can eliminate A C E easily

query:

if it would have been " visits" in B in place of plural verb "visit",,,would it have been correct?? or is it ambigious to use each???

thx

then
B will mean that none of the customer now visits the bank
which will change the meaning

hi

thanks 4 the explanation,,,,
but if u take the first part of the sentence then B doesnt seem to affect the meaning of the sentence,,,

people will still be using the bank services via phone and online,,, thus they still will be the customers of the bank,

I will go with D

'Itself' is a reflexive pronoun that refers to the bank...

while in E....customers (being plural) call for themselves and not him or herself. Even if we were to refer to the customers we would use themselves..
