TOEFL Scores Validity

by mba_applicant_2009 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 5:21 pm
Hello All,

Let us suppose I took my TOEFL on January mid '07. So will my score be accepted if I submit it in Nov 08' (Jan '09 school application deadline date) and I am applying for Sep 2009

Let us forget the validity part because the score is valid if TOEFL is ready to send it to schools (i.e. if 'date of sending scores' - 'test date' <= 2 years).

But by the time, one gets enrolled into the school, the time since he/she last took the test exceeds 2 years; it would be around 2.5 years..

In such a case, will the schools accept the score or not? Or is this thing school specific?

Can someone please clarify?

Thank You,

Dear Mannu,

I would check with each school directly. Some might accept it as it is valid at the time you apply but there could be some that will not because it will not be at the time you enroll. I'm inclined to believe more will accept than not, but better to check and be sure.

Lisa
