Triangles - rectangle

The base of triangle AEF 4/3 is of w, the width of rectangle ABCD. What is the area of triangle AEF in terms of w ?

a) 4w^2/3
b) 3w^2/2
c) 2w^2/3
d) w^2/3
e) 2w/3

AF = (4/3)w
Area of the triangle AEF
= 1/2*base*height
= 1/2 *(4/3)w * w
= (2/3)w^2

Area of Triangle formula is base * height *1/2
Here base is 4w/3 and height is w
so the area of triangle AEF
= 4w/3 * w * 1/2
= 2w^2/3
Option C
