A computer game has five difficulty levels. In each level you can choose among four different scenarios except for the first level, where you can choose among three scenarios only. How many different games are possible?

a) 18
b) 19
c) 20
d) 21
e) None of the above

I had picked e as an answer. I had taken below approach
4*4*4*4*3

If each level were considered one game, just add all the levels to get the number of games possible.
3+4+4+4+4= 19.

If you progress through different stages/levels to reach the 5th then what you did is correct. Not sure what the question asks.
