The West Indian manatee, a distant relative of the elephant, returned to the sea some 50 million years ago. These thousand-pound herbivores inhabit the warm coastal waters where Americans like to play. Despite conservation efforts, criminal penalties for harming these creatures, and an overabundance of SAVE THE MANATEE! bumper stickers, none of these animals can be considered safe.
Which of the following, if true, most strongly supports the argument above?
Last year, several manatees were mysteriously killed by an unidentified toxin.
All manatees swim at depths that make them vulnerable to the blades of motorboat engines.
Most tourists are unaware of the ongoing efforts to save the manatee.
The population of manatees in the wild has dwindled to fewer than 2,500 animals.
Although dozens of manatee deaths are documented each year, many more deaths go unreported.

Here the stimulus makes a mention of "None".
This prompted me to go for B which encompasses each and every animal and asserts that none of them could be safe.
Please correct me if I'm wrong

IMO ans is B
argument is effect of the save manatee effort might not be successful.
Last year, several manatees were mysteriously killed by an unidentified toxin.--out of scope
All manatees swim at depths that make them vulnerable to the blades of motorboat engines.--if this is true then even if people put conscious effort to save manatee it might not be successful as they can be killed unintentionally by the blades of motorboat engines..correct
Most tourists are unaware of the ongoing efforts to save the manatee.--even if they are unaware they may not harm the manatee
The population of manatees in the wild has dwindled to fewer than 2,500 animals.--may be in past people were hurting manatee but as the effect of the campaign they will not do so as a result number of manatee may not decrease further.not correct
Although dozens of manatee deaths are documented each year, many more deaths go unreported.--out of scope
what is OA?

the correct answer is B, because manatees swim at depths that make them vulnerable to the blades of motorboat engines. So, it cause them into trouble by themself. so no matter how we protect them, they are still in danger.nikhilkatira wrote:The West Indian manatee, a distant relative of the elephant, returned to the sea some 50 million years ago. A, wrong, because it talks about the specific year, not general trend
C, whether people are aware or not, it doesn't matter. some people argue that if people are aware of ongoing effort. they will give a hand to help proctect them. but the argument said overabundance of save. so, C is wrong
D, not supported by the argument
E, because the conclusion say none of them are considered safe. According to E, some of them might be safe. So, E wrong.
In sum, B is the most strong answer to support the conclusion with the use of all of manatees.

the argument and answer choices are easy to digest. This is one difficulty we do not have to pass in this question
The most important thing to attack Strenthening, Weakening and Assumption question is "keep the scope in mind" as said in kaplan book. This mean the correct answer must be RELEVANT TO EVIDENCE (copyright to thangduong- just kidding)
think the way I have told you to be confident with 3 main types of questions, THE CENTER OF CRITICAL REASONING (copyright to thangduong-just kidding)
A and B are left
A is not relevant to evidence
IMO B
