I'm not sure about non-top 20 B-schools, but of the top 20 I don't know any that accept transfers.

i just checked the website and couldn't find any explicit information speaking to transfers. my guess would be no... you can always call the admissions office though! :-) good luck

Else mail them saying u have a query .Create a hypothetical situation saying , after a year i am planning to move to the east coast and blah and hence would like to continue my studies in a B school near my house.

is it possible for me to get a transfer after being admitted to ur school for a year.

Hope this helps :)

As per I know, the big guns (i.e. universities ) don't allow or accept transfers. Well I have heard of this thing very rarely ..I don't think this could be allowed anywhere ...though u can ask the university officials only ..they can only say about their rules in depth.. If u want any such change just ask the officials clearly and go through the rule book of university..

why wouldn't you just try to get into the better school the first time?

In undergrad transfering is very common...I mean, I did it twice...but in a masters program it's not as common so they usually don't broadcast it because it's not an option that many care about. I know that both Kellogg and Booth accept transfers. I know this because at the Kellogg info session they said that up to four classes can be transfered in from another (approved) university and I know about University of Chicago because I know someone who transfered in.

Purdue was reference later on in the thread. I went to Purdue for part of my undergrad so I can't really speak for the MBA in particular , but I'd be very surprised if they didn't allow some form of transfer or at the very least a reapply with stealer grades at a B-level B-school counting very highly in your favor.
