Hi,
GMAT poses a lot ques. on Instead of vs. Rather than.
What is the exact rule to follow, though I get most such problems correct but I am not aware of a general rule.
Plz help.

"Instead of " is used to replace person,thing or action.
"Rather than" is used to show preference.
"Rather than" is used to show preference.
