Knewton inference 6

by itsmebharat » Wed Jun 01, 2011 11:22 pm
Select the logical inference from the situation below:

All of the people who play bocce on Saturdays in Greenvale Park were either born in Italy or are from an Italian family. Some of the players who play frisbee in Greenvale Park on Saturdays are in the same family as at least one bocce player, and at least one person plays both bocce and frisbee every Saturday in Greenvale Park.

(A) Most of the people who play frisbee in the park on Saturdays are from Italian families.
(B) At least one person who plays frisbee in Greenvale Park on Saturdays was born in Italy.
(C) At least one of the people who plays frisbee in Greenvale Park on Saturdays is not from an Italian family.
(D) The person who plays both bocce and frisbee was either born in Italy or is from an Italian family.
(E) The person who plays both bocce and frisbee is related to someone else who comes to the park on Saturdays.

born in Italy = p
are from Italian family=q
we are talking about only Saturdays.
1)all people who play bocce - satisfy both p and q
2)some of people who play frisbee are in same family as at least one bocce player.
3)atleast one person plays both bocce and frisbee
a)as 2 says, only some of players who play frisbee are. incorrect
b) maybe all are from Italian family (thus leaving us with 0 people born in Italy) incorrect.
c) same as b)
d) we are talking about the person who plays both and thus he either satisfies p or q. correct.
e) not relevant.
