A recent survey regarding the use of the Internet by the nation's top business leaders found that nearly ninety-five percent of them are subscribed to business-related RSS feeds, almost the same as the number of those who have subscriptions to The Wall Street Journal.

A) the same as the number of those who have subscriptions to

B) similar to the number who subscribe to

C) equivalent to those who have subscriptions for

D) as much as the number of those who subscribe to

E) as much as are subscribed to
OA : later!
Reasoning for answer choice would be greatly appreciated.

How much percentage you got in the exam.
How many numbers you had (not scored.....reduntant) in the exam.

So percentages are accompanied by "much"

And in the question, we have comparison of percentages.

We can not compare numbers and percentages......it is like comparison of apples and oranges.

And yes, one more point:
"subscribed to" and "subscription of" are the correct idioms
I am not sure about "subscription for"

A - 'the number' ...have (sud b has')- wrong
B - 'similar to' (wrong usage)+ the number...have/has error
D & E - 'as much as' for uncountable + in D 'the number'...subscribe/subscribes error
Additionally, except C & E rest all compares people with the number
IMO - C (through 'equivalent' inapppropriate here)

I agree with this explanation. I pick E.
