teratomas

Old question. It's been discussed here a few times. My question is if my source is wrong. This is the exact passage from the book (I've checked it for mistake. No errors). I picked D but the answer is E. Because E, as is doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I searched the forum and other people posted the same passage except their choice E has "such as" not just "such." Can someone who also has seen this question from a non-internet source confirm? If this passage is correct why E? (My source is an actual book from GMAC, hence the confusion).
