I took the MGMAT CAT and scored:
91st percentile verbal
19th percentile quant
Total score: 560
I need to get at least a 700. Is it possible to do this given that I scored just slightly over average on the practice test? I can't believe I scored in the 19th percentile on quant. I was the valedictorian of a major university with a degree in finance. I'm so down on myself right now. I don't know what to do. |

Quant is far easier to raise than Verbal so don't lose all hope. 91% on Verbal is a good showing so if you can raise your Quant score, you will be on your way. Look at my cat scores in my signature and you'll see getting 700+ is possible starting in the mid-500s. _________________ http://www.beatthegmat.com/my-blog-errors-and-lessons-learned-t4899.html

What did you do to raise your score? And how long did it take you? My problem with quant, unlike the verbal, is that I can't remember any of the concepts from 8th grade. Who in the world remembers how to do geometry and permutations? I can't believe there are people out there who retain this information when they likely haven't used it in years. |

| I dunno about the concepts from 8th grade, but Veritas has a really, REALLY nice book on permutations on their website. I just finished it this week. |

If you do not remember the basics for such things, then you need to revisit your fundamentals. I recommend one of the math workbooks like PR math workbook or Kaplan math workbook. Or if you know the specific area you need to work on, you can take a look at the Veritas or MGMAT books that deal with the specific subject. _________________ http://www.beatthegmat.com/my-blog-errors-and-lessons-learned-t4899.html
