Hi All,

I would like to hear your valuable reviews on the practice CAT tests scores.

I wrote the GMATPrep tests with initial preparation before going through Manhattan SC and quant guides.

My GMATPrep tests scores:

Test - Qscore (C-W) - Vscore (C-W) - FinalScore - DateTaken
1 - 44 (24-13) - 29 (24-17) - 600 - 17-Apr-10
2 - 48 (23-14) - 34 (27-14) - 660 - 24-Apr-10

After going through Manhattan SC and quant guides. I wrote Manhattan online CAT tests.

Below are my manhattan MGMAT CAT test scores:

Test Q Score (C-W) V Score(C-W) Final Score Date Taken
1. 41 (22-19) - 37 (26-15) - 660 - 9-May-10
2. 47 (21-16) - 38 (25-16) - 700 - 29-May-10
3. 48 (23-14) - 41 (28-13) - 730 - 3-Jun-10
4. 48 (24-13) - 38 (28-13) - 690 - 11-Jun-10
5. 48 (22-15) - 36 (25-16) - 690 - 25-Jun-10

I have also written 800score.com sectional tests (old version - v4.0). Below are the details:

Test - Qscore (C-W) - Vscore (C-W) - DateTaken
1. - 41 (24-13) - 38 (26-15) - 4-Jun-10
2. - 39 (22-15) - 39 (23-18) - 9-Jun-10
3. - 38 (28- 9) - 42 (26-15) - 12-Jun-10
4. - 45 (27-10) - 39 (26-15) - 19-Jun-10

**Note: All the tests (GMATPrep, MGMAT, and 800score.com) given without attempting AWA section.

In last 4 MGAMT CAT tests, I scored 47 to 48 in quant. How can I improve it to reach 50-51 level? I have gone through all Manhattan quant books.

In verbal section, I faced problems in RCs. Please suggest how can I improve it?

I finished the verbal section almost 10 minutes earlier in all these tests. From my experience what I learned is that instead of moving fast I should have focused on RCs so that I could perform better in RCs as well. Please suggest?

Based upon these tests scores, what final score I can expect in my real test? I have to write GMAT within 15 days. Please suggest me the strategies to follow in these 12-14 days.

Thanks

710-730...maybe even 740 yes..focus on RC by giving more time.... hope you have given the tests with the 1 hour AWA section... does fatigue affect your score...?? work on it if you have not sit for 4 hours at a stretch!

Base on my own experience and experience of many others, I think you're at mid-600 at highest. Most people suggest that Manhattan's verbal is quite different than the real thing, and in many cases easier. So if you're averaging mid to high-30's in Manhattan verbal, you're probably looking at low 30's or could even be in the 20's. In addition, you have not taken any test under test condition, and that extra hour of writing AWA will most effect your verbal score.

Manhattan's quant should be at par with the real thing, but 48 suggest that there are holes. In the real test, you might get unlucky and get a lot of the questions you are not familiar with, and the score might drop from there.

I would spend time maybe patching some holes in quant and definitely focus on OG and GMATPrep tests for verbal.

Hi arora007 and uwhusky,

Thanks for your replies.

Yesterday, I gave GMATPrep (2005 version) and scored 690 (Q-50, V-32). In this test, I attempted AWA section as well. I did not feel tired in verbal section becuase of the AWA. This is because I have developed the stemina by giving many practice CATs. The number of wrong questions in the verbal section was 11 but I made 5 mistakes in a row which pulled down the score to 32.

I have 10 days left to write the real test. Could you please suggest what should be my strategy for these 10 days? Should I retake GMATPrep or should I give Princeton or Kaplan CAT tests? How many practice tests should I give in these 10 days?

Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks
